Descripción
This is the story of a beginning. From the age of seventeen, the narrator and aspiring writer senses he is entering the «youth of youth», on the eve of a war that will paradoxically be liberating. He immerses himself fervently in a hallucinatory militancy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and begins what, in the 1990s, will be his great challenge: to finish a first book before ceasing to be young. Meanwhile, an unforgettable friendship in the democratic opening is interwoven with the discovery of elusive women and the growing temptation of homosexuality. Between readings, daydreams and nomadism, taxi boys lurk as protagonists of an epic of the margin. As he did in Infancia en Mataderos, Claudio Zeiger uses here the chronicle of the era, autobiography and fiction to try to get closer to the heart of the experience under the disturbing question that writer Carlos Correas once asked: «What if the depths I was looking for were empty?».
